You are so funny, you keep proving my point---okay, I was overweight growing up, and I had a traumatic experience in a dressing room once...I think I was in 4th grade? Trying clothes on, I'm naked and all the sudden the door flings open and these 2 girls are standing there and they burst out laughing and then shut the door. That 5 seconds drastically changed my world as far as shopping for clothes. I have no idea what they were laughing at, but in my mind it was me and my big butt. Trying on clothes has always been such a disaster and a miserable experience, I never fit into anything and I was terrified of that door flinging open...but you don't know that because you are younger than me and then I moved out and you moved away with the family. I would wear hand me downs from Tamara mostly. SO in the summer of 2005 I joined Weight Watchers and lost 50 pounds. I was with you in NJ and you are an *excellent* clothes stylist so for the first time in my life I was THRILLED to go clothes shopping. AND I needed to, I didn't have anything that fit. So I can see how you would think that I buy clothes all the time, I love how perspective works! Hahaha you probably think I ALWAYS invite everybody into my dressing room too, now, huh? But here's the point--I want you to tell me how much I spent on clothes during that shopping spree--and feel free to round up....What outrageous amount did I spend on clothes in the summer of 2005? But let me pick it apart much like you did to mine. I do get upset because like you said you are looking at the SYSTEM. Well what makes up the system is individual people. So when you say you don't want to bring personal experiences to the table or dive into your personal finances. I say why not. YOU ARE WHAT MAKES THE "SYSTEM". Because like you said we did grow up in the same house but lived very differently and had different points and different things presented to us. So what i'm saying, yeah its cool to learn about systems but whats more important and whats going to make you grow is looking at indivduals growth and empowerment over the systems or with the systems. I don't doubt that you and BJ worked very very hard I was there washing down sweaty excersize equipment with you at 2 in the morning so I know you guys can work and I think that is part because the way your parents raised you. We are all hard workers. Im pointing this out because you say so many negative comments but I want you to see the great qualities you have because your parents raised you well. Even if they were apart of a SYSTEM. Now what I ment by you not managing money very well. Is because you love to go shopping you always have. And when you decide that you need a new wardrobe, while living in Jersey. YOu worked your butt off to make money so you could take it home to BJ in utah. You spent so much money on clothes rather then saving all the money you just earned. It was bafling to the rest of. I'm saying I guess the SYSTEM that tried to teach living with in means didn't stick with you. So the SYSTEM isn't doing so well with members who are "disobeying" and going beyond their means. I mean isn't that a great concept to teach people to live with in means. And wouldn't it also be great it people actually lived it. I mean Utah is not the only place in a recession. The whole world has been living outside their means.. Mind you like you say most people don't have 5 kids. Well there are plenty of people with no kids or one kid who still are going bankcrupt and don't live in utah. This is not just a UTAH ISSUE. you say this is a world issue so lets delve into the world issues not just the mormon side of the issue. I think I went off on a tangint there. I would agree with you that the SYSTEM is pusing people to get marriad to quickly and I believe only to save them from having sex. I agree that is not a good reason to get married nor to rush marriage before the hormons take over. On the other hand I was a very sexual person and had a few partners in my day. Now having had the experience I wouldn't want people having lots of sexual partners. Its a fact that it spread disease and hurts your self worth. And now that i'm learning about energy work, your giving someone a part of your energy that is not invested in you so its literally taking a part of your spirit and energy when you have sex with people you are not married to or growing with. Thus its very damaging. Now the sex part is not, don't think that i think sex is bad. Its when you give someone that part of you and then seperate and go different ways. You literally have pieces of you with other people and in no way is that helping you or improving you as a person. Next time I go to our healing circle I'm planning on seperating and taking back the energy I gave to a few people and giving them back their energy so that my whole self can be devoted to my husband and thats what its about. OK really the issue is teaching your kids safe sex and the what sex means to your body and soul or energy. Rather then shunning any sexual conversations and dismissing any sexual dialog or behaviors. I think the issue goes deeper and deals with sexual abuse but we won't go into that because I know what your response will be. Now you say I had to live two different lives but really I choose to, whether you believe that or not. I know what happens when you tell your Bishop because I did. I was 17 no one told me to tell my bishop my parents didn't even know what I was talking to my bishop about and I was not condemed evil, I was not punished, I was not disfellowshipped. So in a way I was acting or pretending but yet I wasn't I told my Bishop I wasn't living a lie my WHOLE LIFE. I was not shunned for being human and for going against the SYSTEM. You said BJ was but I wasn't. So I say again the SYSTEM might not be as rigid as you think. I had a completely different experience then BJ. Thats why the individual experience is more important then the SYSTEM. All I'm trying to say is that your attempting to pin point the SYSTEMS flaws and expectations but in reality no one person ever lived or will live the the SYSTEMS expecatations or required perfections. No one SYSTEM is perfect because there are people with different experience and yes FREE AGENCYS that make it so we can grow and learn. So stop trying to stereo type me and all the mormons because we ARE ALL DIFFERENT PEOPLE under the SYSTEM.
